Hola a tothom,
Ara ja he crescut una mica (be bastant) i he viscut moltes aventures (que ja explicaré algun dia).
No us sé dir molt be perquè, però l'espai té alguna cosa que em fascina.

Today I arrived at Washington and here begins a new adventure for this 2016. I had abandoned this blog that I started in 2008 when I went to Glasgow for a two month stage to learn a little more on solar sails and live away from my parents home for the first time. Now I've grown a bit and I have lived many adventures (which I will explain some day). From now I will use this blog to explain how are things going here and how it is to work for a few months at the Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA (NASA yes sounds good doesn't it?).
A while ago that I started my research on solar sails and their motion in space, one day I'll tell more about solar sails (accessible to everyone, no worries). And I try to make myself a place in this wonderful world of Scientific Research. For several years I have been jumping from grant to grant (like who plays to "La Oca"). After a rough year with lack of motivation I decided I wanted to make 2016 worthwhile. This is why I did a trip through Patagonia which you can follow in blog www.backpackingari.blogspot.com and now these 3 months stage at NASA.

Hello Everyone,
Today I arrived at Washington and here begins a new adventure for this 2016.
Those who know me well know that entering NASA has always been one of my dreams. I've love the space and satellites since ever. I had even thought of becoming an astronaut when I was little child heheheh. I can't really tell you why, but space is something that has allways fascinates me. On the one hand, for the many unanswered questions related to space and the objects that inhabit it (planets, comets, stars, galaxies, black holes ...) and on the other hand the peace that you get while observing the night sky in the middle of the mountains. I still remember the first time I looked through a telescope. It was in St Pol de Mar at Albert Capell house, he had invited my father and me. We saw the donut Nebula and Saturn, and certainly more things (but I was 14 years and my memory fails a bit). I do not own a telescope but when ever I get the chance I look at the sky and imagine how it must be to be up there.
I took a degree in Mathematics because I liked them a lot, I was good at them and I had the fantastic idea of wanting to know all the Maths in the World. After 4 years of GradSchool and 6 years doing my PhD I can tell you that only a few (not to say noone) can have this privilege. The field of mathematics, like any other field in science, is immense and as more that you learn the more you realize how little you know. So I have specialized myself in Mechanics Celeste and Astrodynamics. Which are the areas of mathematics that study the movement of planets and satellites in space. This way I could meet two of my passions, mathematics and space exploration. Now I understand a little more how satellites fly and how they travel through space to go from one planet to another. Cool eh!! :p

Coming
to NASA was something that was not in my original plans for 2016, but
after a nice conversation with Gerard Gomez (Professor and friend of
mathematical adventures at the department) came the opportunity to do a
stage at Goddard. We contacted the people here and they provided lots of
facilities so that I could come here for a few months and work with them.
At the beginning I couldn't quite believe it, hehehehe I thought why hadn't I asked it before? (it was not the moment)
But the road to get here has been long. I wanted to start at the beginning of April, but problems with my VISA and the credentials to have a NASA badge postponed this trip a month. But the day has come and on May 9th I will be able to get into NASA and explain you how it is to work there. I hope to make the most of it, learn a lot and live intensely this time.
